Auckland afternoon sightseeing tour

Accompanied by a knowledgeable driver / guide discover the highlights of the city of Auckland. Known as the “city of sails” Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city with a population of approximately 1.5 million. It is estimated that 1 in 4 families have a boat! Auckland is the largest Polynesian city in the world and within 1 hours drive of downtown Auckland there are 102 mainland beaches!
Highlights today will include St Heliers and Mission Bay (beachside suburbs), Tamaki Drive, Michael Joseph Savage Memorial look out, Auckland Domain, guided tour of flora/fauna and vulcanology sections of the Auckland Museum, free time at the Auckland Museum, Parnell Road, Auckland city centre, Wynyard Quarter, Westhaven, Auckland harbour bridge and Ponsonby Road.

Waiheke Island tour

When Aucklander’s talk of an island paradise they are referring to Waiheke Island which is 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. With a permanent population of around 9,000 people Waiheke Island is home to over 30 wineries, along with olive groves and dozens of local and internationally renowned artists. On this picturesque island there is a blend of farmland, forest and stunning beaches. With hot, dry summers and stony soils, Waiheke wineries produce unique, high quality wines based on cabernet sauvignon, merlot, malbec, cabernet franc and the recent move into chardonnay grape varieties. Visit three artists/crafts people (jeweller, glass artist, shoe maker), enjoy free time in Oneroa followed by a two course lunch (main and dessert) at a local restaurant with a glass of locally produced wine. After lunch enjoy an olive oil presentation followed by olive oil tasting then wine tasting at two wineries. Delicious!

Hobbiton day tour

Here is your chance to be amazed by the extraordinary attention to detail at the largest green movie set in the world.
Drive from Auckland through “middle-earth” to the Hobbiton Movie Set from “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” films for a fascinating guided tour.
On arrival at Shire’s Rest you embark on your Hobbiton movie set tour. This location is the largest “green set” in the world and the only place where you get an emotional response with a movie set in a natural setting. You see 44 hobbit holes including Bilbo’s house, “Bag End”, the Mill and double arch bridge and the Party Tree. At this stunning location you can take a photo at the door of Bag End, looking out over the whole of Hobbiton to the hills in the distance.
The guided tour, of this largest “green set” in the world, concludes with a visit to the Green Dragon Inn where you will enjoy a complimentary ale, cider or ginger beer.
After the tour your lunch is included at Shire’s Rest Café before heading back to Auckland.

Waitomo Caves and Rotorua day tour


Visit the world famous Waitomo limestone formations and cave systems to see the shimmering lights of thousands of tiny glow worms. In Rotorua learn about sheep shearing and farming at the Agrodome sheep and farm show followed by a tour of a working farm. Drive along the foreshore of Lake Rotorua and through the beautiful and historic Government Gardens. At Te Puia enjoy a Maori cultural performance and view boiling mud pools, hot springs and magnificent geysers.
